It's not a scholarship yet.... and may not even turn into one.....
but....
I'm a semi-finalists for the BYU ballroom scholarship!
And that feels mighty dandy.

Lovers dance when they're feeling in love
See Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.
Walk around the river bottoms
StayUp all night on the phone together
Make each other hot chocolate
Watch an entire series together
Learn guitar together
Sit on top of a parked car looking at lights
Have a picnic on top of a building
Go swimming at night
Take pictures in a photo booth
Go to a theme park
Visit Europe
Dance (both in the rain and out)
Stay in together on a weekend
Listen to local bands
Sing songs on a long drive together
Tell each other everything
Discover strange videos
Love Disney
Cuddle by a fire
Go out to eat somewhere fancy
Go bowling
Make and fly a kite
Invent our own food
Play Mario Kart
Celebrate Ghandi
Read scriptures and talks and discuss them together
Go to sporting events together
Send each other silly pictures
Quote the same funny things
Paint my fingernails
See a play
See 21 Jump Street
Have you all to myself
Write each other sweet notes
Hike the Y
Take care of each other when sick
Go in tunnels
Play board games
Make homemade ice cream
Sit on a porch for hours
Just some things I want to do with whoever you may be.

Red Solo Cup
I just spent a weekend with a great bunch of people.
I competed 2 medleys that could have gone better, but at least we got 1st in both. Still much work to do.
I got to know people I wouldn't otherwise have spent time with, or even talked to.
I went to Knott's Berry Farm, the Mall, the competition, many food places, and had a heck of a time.
Something about this weekend made me feel like I am ready for the future.
I'm not living in my high school days any longer, or waiting for my high school things any more.
I can meet people, however shy I may be, and I will.
I have an entire future ahead of me that I'm finally ready for.
If I do go to BYU, I know I can do it now.
I'll blame my indecisiveness on my anxiety, because I'm still not sure what to do.
In the mean time, it's dance 100% from here.
Nationals is 16 days away.
In 17 days I will be on the Marriott Center floor competing Cinemagic and Rhapsody in Blue.
Hitting every hand, hitting every head, arm, foot, leg, shape, spin, toe, hip, and body part possible completely in sync with my team.
My name is Lauren Faber. And I dance for Brigham Young University.
I will not have the pain of regret.

Didn't I, my love?
People are peculiar.
Today I visited a ward that isn't my own and had the pleasure of sitting next to a little boy, most likely 8 years old.
During the meeting he leaned over and asked if I wanted to play tic-tac toe with him.
At this moment I realized again my lack of talent with regards to the young. I wanted to win a simple tic-tac-toe game. After the first win I of course wanted the little boy to have his chance.
I made obvious places for him to go but it just seemed he could not discover them and lost every time, or at least had a game of cats.
We continued to play the dot game, the one where you draw a line, and eventually when three lines are drawn if you're the person to draw the fourth you get a point, and get to go again. After a couple of obvious draws the boy would make it so that I had the chance to get a box my next turn.
At first I would take the box to show him his mistake.
After awhile of playing I began to experiment. If I offered him the same chance to get a box he wouldn't take it.
Eventually when I stopped taking the chance to get a point as well, he whispered to me, "you should go right there."
It was then I realized this boy wasn't bad at these games at all, quite good in fact, but he wanted me to win. He wished that I would get the points.
I did everything I could to let him win but his innocence would not break.
During one of our final games of tic-tac-toe I made it so the only square left forced him to get three in a row.
In regards to his inevitable win he asked, "Do I have to go right there?"
"Why don't you like winning?" I replied.
"I like it better when other people win."
My mind was blown, and those little strings on my heart were pulled more tightly in. This perfect boy didn't play to win, he played to play. He wanted other people to win because it made them happy.
What a peculiar boy. His simplicity turned into perfection in my mind.
He didn't like winning. He didn't play to win. He played for others to win.
If only we were all like this 8 year old boy.
If only we all played for other people to win.
Imagine that.

You ask me to dance then you walk away
Which is worse:
To be so deeply in love and know that person loves you back but something makes it impossible for you to be together
To be so deeply in love and know that person loves you back but something makes it impossible for you to be together
OR
To love someone so much you'd do anything for them, and to have them not reciprocate the feeling?

But how we love when it washes our cars

We got older, but we're still young
One little orange peel turned into a room full of snowflakes.
i went to wait for her after 5th and i got to spend my lunch with her. and she gave me this wonderful scenario about us being 7th graders and everything would turn out okay. =) and then she gave me a hand shake and that might sound way lame but its so much better than it was.
"cause when you sleep,
I like to think we dream at the same time."
"What am I then?"
"You're beautiful."
I cried that night because crying is what I did.
"What do you want to do?"
My stupid silent tears continued.
"Let's go do something. What do you want to do?"
"Well, I've always wanted to ride a bull."
His chuckle broke across the air.
"My goodness I love you."
