31.12.10

Three-hundred-and-sixty-four more days.

NEW YEAR. So as many do today I'm looking back at 2010. wow. 2010 is OVER?! Not sure where that came from.

This year was an extremely challenging one. But, when I look at who I was only a year ago and how much I've grown and what I've learned in that year I'm a completely different person.

This year I learned how to be a daughter, how to be a friend, how to love, how to lose, and how to forgive.

The first half of the year has been completely opposite from the second half. I had a really rough start to 2010 over things I didn't deserve and things I had no control over. While they were hard I pushed through them and like to believe I handled them very maturely. I learned things from my trials this year that I needed to in order to become me. I grew closer to my family (who I love SO dearly) I found my true friends, I discovered what it is that I like to do, I enriched myself in the gospel, I learned I'm never alone, and I got through every hard time.

To me, this has been my most successful year yet. It started with many opportunities for me to overcome. Now, at the end of 2010 I'm so much closer to who I want to be.

I did so many things this year. Things I will always remember about this year:

2010 I got real answers.
2010 was a remarkable year.

30.12.10

Lunch was the happiest 45 minutes of the day.

Watching 6 hours of Grey's Anatomy at Lydia's house got us talking.

It's interesting how in the show once someone is told they are going to die they change their life. Sometimes it's not even a short period of time in which they will die, just knowing that they will makes them do things they want to do. One lady sold her house, quit her job, dumped her loser boyfriend, and was going to take a trip just for herself that she has always wanted to.
It's all good that these people do the things they want to finally, but I was thinking "Why does hearing you're going to die make you change your life around? Isn't birth a death sentence?" It seems people go about life with the sole purpose of avoiding the inevitable. We live in ways that will prevent our death, but it's going to happen to all of us and we know it.
Now I don't mean to be a downer, because that's not my point. My point IS we all already have a death sentence. We all already know we are going to die. So what are we waiting for? Why does it take a doctor telling us that our days will be numbered for people to start really living their lives? People should live TODAY. We all have numbered days. We all will die. So start living the live you want to live now. Don't wait to be told your time is up.
