VALENTINE'S DAY
Today I have been hearing "singles awareness day" (which abbreviates to SAD) quiet a bit. But I realized something. Why do people hate holidays? Especially this one?
Valentines day shouldn't be about having a significant other. It shouldn't be about giving a rose, or who has a hand to hold and a goodnight kiss. It isn't about where you go to dinner and what presents you receive. Valentine's day is about telling the people you love that you love them. It's about realizing who is there for you and what they have done. It doesn't have to be someone you're "in love" with, but simply a parent, a child, a friend, a mentor, anyone who you love.
Tell those people today that you love them. CELEBRATE the good feelings you receive and give to other people. Valentine's day isn't about showing off what relationship you're in, it is about celebrating and embracing the people we care about most.
Valentine's day is not to aware the single people of their status, but it is to show everyone how blessed they are, and is a day to embrace and rejoice in the real love all around us.
